Frequently asked questions.

Are you a law firm?

We are set up as an Incorporated Legal Practice so we are licensed to operate as a law firm (regulated by the NSW Law Society and carry professional indemnity insurance through Law Cover), as well as provide other services.

This means we can provide legal advice (like a law firm) as well as arrange in-house legal secondees (employed and insured by us or self insured contractors) and other support services (such a legal project managers).

What other services do you provide?

We offer ancillary services such as:

Legal Project Managers: for large projects such as IPOs, M&A transactions, litigation matters and regulatory investigations

Legal IT Implementation Advice: researching, costing and implementing legal software (SaaS products) such as contract management systems and legal team matter management software

Legal Procurement Services: to assist companies in finding, selecting and appointing the right panel of legal advisors (in Australia and off-shore if required), which is likely to be a mix of small boutique, medium and large firms (as well as some technology solutions to generate in-house efficiencies)

How are you different to law firms?

Law firms offer highly specialised, technical lawyers who provide specific legal advice on certain topics, and have large teams with layers of hierarchy.

We only work with lawyers who have had extensive in-house legal experience, can work independently and hit the ground running.  In-house lawyers have an understanding of the commercial realities and can deliver clear, practical, commercial advice that also takes into account cross-functional business considerations.
